On the whole, for someone who has never been to one of these events,
it was very impressive. I think, however, that I would have gotten a
lot more out of it if I had managed to arrange to go with a group of
people I know as I felt a little lost amidst it all.
One highlight was bumping into Neil Bordessa again. He was at Ormond
Beach doing things like multi and seaplane ratings when I was getting
my PPL. It was great to catch up and I also got to see the now
infamous Chipmunk.

A very big biplane thing. |
|
One of a gaggle of Europas just about to depart if the spotters would
kindly move off the taxiway, thank-you very much. |
|
A Rutan Long-Ez according to G-INFO. Suitably different, I thought. |
|
EAA biplane, apparantly. I'm none the wiser myself, but a smart
craft. |
|
And a tiny little biplane (Pitts Special - yes, I read it on the fin
;-). |
|
A cluster of Tipsy Nippers(?). |
|
Pietenpol Aircamper (from G-INFO). |
|
Sean Hunt (Neil Bordessa's co-pilot for the day) prepares for
departure in the Chipmunk. |

The prop swings into life and they're off to visit a few more strips
on the way home. |
