A Couple of Circuits   Outbound Leg

I had originally thought of routing fairly directly from Denham to overhead Oxford which would have meant crossing the Benson MATZ. I felt up to the task, but opted to go round it in the end. This would mean I could just concentrate on enjoying the trip and also meant I could practice routing via the Westcott (WCO) and Henton (HEN) NDBs.

My route out was, then, Denham, `HEN', `WCO', OHD Oxford, OHD Hinton Waldrist. Due to it's proximity, we decided that we would pay a visit to the White Horse at Uffington, too. The return would be a reverse of the trip out, but going from `HEN' to Bovingdon which is the initial inbound reporting point for Denham.

The wind chart was showing about 260/15 at 2000ft for the area and the C172 has a cruise speed of about 95kts, so my outbound plan was:
